Week 5

This week we have continued to do some great learning and investigating. We investigated the mass of various shopping items using units and equal arm balances and continued to investigate the properties of materials by doing a science experiment about 'force' using playdough. We have also begun to enjoy some of your speeches about games that used to be played in the past.

Comment on the following:
- What playground games are played today that were also played in the past?

- Explain the materials found on playgrounds today and name some of their properties.

- What do you understand about force?

- What did you learn this week about measuring the mass of objects?

  2. Measuring was so much fun. Mrs Sargent told us not to use thousands because some are solid some and are hollow. The hollow has nothing inside it and the solid has those little blocks inside. The solid block would be heavier then the hollow block and the hollow block would be lighter, I had so much fun measuring!!!!!!!!

  5. I know people do not play marbles any more. But it was a popular game before because lots of kids played and lots of kids did on marbles.I LOVED !!!! doing our science with play dough it was so fun. measuring was so cool. Mrs Sargent told us to not use the 1000 blocks cause some are hollow which means empty and solid which means it has stuff in it

  8. Some playground games that are still played today are ball games like handball.
The materials found in playgrounds today are plastic , steel , wood and metal.
What I understood about force was that when I rolled the play dough into a ball and pushed my hand into it, it changed shape.
This week I learnt that objects have different weights, some big objects can be light and some little objects can be heavy.
