Mathematics strategies

In Year 2 we have been talking about the importance of checking the accuracy of our answers and proving our findings when working to solve problems mathematically.

We have been exploring various strategies. Here are some  examples of the jump strategy on an empty number line for addition and subtraction and the split strategy to assist you when problem solving at home.

Remember to use these in your homework this week and keep up the great work Year 2!

  1. In year 2 I like using the split strategy, I also like to use the jump strategy but I like using the split strategy most.
